Shanghai – Paradise for Adventurers (NSFW)

This is a 3-part CBC documentary series from 2005 featuring Berlin, Paris and Shanghai, notorious hot spots of vice, debauchery and corruption in the years between World War I and II.

Shanghai nightclubs never closed and hotels supplied heroin with room service. Passports were not required. Refugees of war, poverty and politics wandered the streets amongst gangsters, prostitutes and cops.
